Details:

The City of Knoxville is committed to addressing the opioid epidemic through its first responders and by supporting non-profits that specialize in this area. Multiple legal settlements with opioid manufacturers and pharmaceutical distributors have been allocated to states, counties and cities throughout the country to address the opioid epidemic. These settlement amounts vary and are staggered over many years. The settlements require that funds be used specifically for opioid mitigation.

Funding Information

As part of its funding received to date, the City of Knoxville is allocating $300,000 for the 2025-26 fiscal year to provide grant funding to non-profits who provide opioid remediation and prevention services to City of Knoxville residents.

Grant Period

These are one-time funds to be utilized between July 1, 2025-June 30, 2026.

Eligibility Criteria

Any non-profit organization may apply for a grant if it operates within the City of Knoxville has been in operation for at least two years and is registered as a charitable organization with the Tennessee Secretary of State or has a current exemption.
