The program prioritizes properties in the Downtown and Cambria areas. It is designed to enhance the streetscape, strengthen partnerships with stakeholders and encourage revitalization of older buildings.
Funding Information
Eligible businesses can apply for up to $5,000 matching grant through the Town.
Eligibility Criteria
- The building must be located within the town limits of Christiansburg, VA.
- The building must be occupied or in the process of being renovated.
- Property must be zoned as B-1, B-2, B-3, I-1, I-2, MU-1, or MU-2
- If business owner is different from property owner, must have consent of property owner(s).
- The proposed project focusses on the façade, or an approved side of the building as determined by the selection committee.
- Must be willing, able, commit to, and demonstrate equal match of the grant awards in project investment.
- Nonprofits only: Have not received any other budgeted Town funds or Town grants in the current fiscal year.
- The Façade Grant Program selection committee will score applications based on a variety of categories using a weighted rubric. There are three primary points of focus for scoring including:
- Project’s impact on the community
- Alignment with the Town’s planning goals
- Historical significance.
