Funding Information
Funding in two different lanes to ensure that their local food system remains strong and sustainable:
- Lane 1 is for the direct food assistance in the amount of $2.5 million and will be proportionately allocated according to regional need. This lane will support program proposals for existing food programs to purchase food and reusable items for program participants, such as hand carts and reusable bags.
- Lane 3 is to provide $1.5 million in infrastructure investments such as refrigerated food storage, heavy duty shelving, cargo vans, lifts, etc. This funding is for infrastructure investments that remain with the organization. Funding in this lane will be for direct purchase and cannot be for any programmatic staffing costs.
Eligibility Criteria
Community based organizations and Houses of Worship 501(c)3 organizations located in or serving Fairfax County can apply for funding.
