SVCF Early Childhood Development Grants – California

Dated: April 28, 2023

The Silicon Valley Community Foundation is accepting applications for its Early Childhood Development Grants.

Donor Name: Silicon Valley Community Foundation

State: California

County: San Mateo County (CA) and Santa Clara (CA)

Type of Grant: Grant

Deadline: 05/19/2023

Size of the Grant: $35,000 – $60,000

Details:

The Expanding Pathways for Early Childhood Career Preparation, Advancement, and Entrepreneurship grant round will support community-led, community-focused organizations advancing solutions to stabilize and expand the infant and toddler care workforce in San Mateo and Santa Clara counties.

Access to affordable, reliable child care services are directly related to parents’ ability to go to work and school, impacting individual career advancement, family financial stability, and community economic growth.  However, these benefits cannot be realized without a diverse, well-trained and stable workforce. Across San Mateo and Santa Clara counties there is an extreme shortage of qualified early care professionals that is limiting their families’ access to childcare.

The benefits of inclusive, high-quality early childhood care and learning are well documented for children, families and the economy. Early experiences have lasting impacts on a child’s cognitive and social development, building the foundation for future success.
