Details:

Their Community Impact Grants are invested in nonprofit organizations that provide programs and services aligned with their three strategic priority areas of Education, Financial Stability and Health. Grant recipients provide services across the Brazos Valley in the seven counties they serve: Brazos, Burleson, Grimes, Leon, Madison, Robertson and Washington counties.

Funding Information

Community Impact Grants range from $10,000 – $40,000 annually for a 2-year grant cycle.

Eligibility Criteria

Organizations who:

  • Are tax-exempt under Sections 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and units of government. Must provide an IRS tax ID Determination letter
  • Submit all required documentation with application and meet all required criteria as stated in United Way Board of Governance Policy No. 1.03. Deadlines will be strictly enforced
  • Provide services in the Brazos Valley region of Texas (Brazos, Burleson, Grimes, Leon, Madison, Robertson and Washington counties)
  • Align with at least one of United Way of the Brazos Valley goals in the areas of Health, Education and/or Financial Stability
  • Are governed by a board that meets at least quarterly and have board approved by-laws and articles of incorporation.
  • Have an annual independent audit completed by an independent CPA or if annual revenue is under $750,000, an annual financial review by an independent CPA
  • Maintain and comply with non-discrimination and anti-terrorism laws
  • Agree and comply to the requirements as stated in the agency funding agreement with United Way of the Brazos Valley
  • Provide Administrative percentage 3-Year Average as requested on the application and describe how the organization seeks to minimize administrative expenses

Ineligible Requests

Community Impact grants are not intended for the following types of requests:

  • Individuals or scholarships
  • Endowment funds
  • Fundraising activities
  • Short term events or seminars (2 weeks or less)
  • Political lobbying or legislative activities
  • Capital campaigns
