The Grant Program prepares the Nation for the threats and hazards that pose the greatest risk to the security of the United States.
It provides funding to implement investments that enhance terrorism preparedness and serve to build, sustain, and deliver the 32 core capabilities across the five mission areas of Prevention, Protection, Mitigation, Response, and Recovery essential to achieving the National Preparedness Goal of a secure and resilient nation.
The building, sustainment, and delivery of these core capabilities requires the combined effort of the whole community, inclusive of children, individuals with disabilities and others with access and functional needs, diverse communities, and people with limited English proficiency.
Proposed projects should be shovel-ready and must support one of the IJs listed below:
- Enhance Information and Intelligence Sharing and Cooperation with Federal Agencies.
- Enhance the Protection of Soft Targets/Crowded Places.
- Enhance Cyber security.
- Address Emergent Threats.
- Combating Domestic Violent Extremism through Enhanced Intelligence Collection & Analysis, Training, and Community Resilience.
- Strengthen Emergency Communications Capabilities Through Planning, Governance, Technology, and Equipment.
- Enhance Medical and Public Health Preparedness.
- Strengthen Information Sharing and Collaboration.
- Enhance Community Capabilities through Multi-Jurisdictional/Inter-Jurisdictional all Hazards Incident Planning, Response & Recovery Coordination, including Partnerships with Volunteers and Community-Based Organizations and Programs.
- Protect Critical Infrastructure and Key Resources (includes Food and Agriculture).
