The city of Aurora is accepting nominations from the community for its annual Aurora Business Recognition Awards Program, which began in 2005 to celebrate successful businesses that are leaders in the workplace and community.

The program recognizes not only the economic vitality that businesses of all sizes and types bring to Aurora, but also the support these businesses provide to their employees and broader community. Award winners will be honored in person this fall at the Aurora Municipal Center.
Eligibility Criteria
- Located within the city of Aurora
- Fully and legally licensed in Aurora
- Registered with the state of Colorado
- In good standing with applicable regulatory and taxing agencies. Business Award Criteria Nominees will be evaluated by one or more of the following criteria:
- Resiliency: Stood the test of COVID-19 and still going strong. Takes care and supports their employees. Offers programs and services that impact and support the community.
- Innovation and Creativity: Pivoted its business model throughout the pandemic to continue to provide quality products and services. Offers great customer service and high-quality products and services.
- Manufacturing: Manufactures products that meet the needs of the community. Business uses environmental and sustainable practices.
- Small, Small Businesses: Has up to 15 employees, goes the extra mile to serve clients and provide customer service, and is activiely involved in the community.
- Diversity, Equity and Inclusion: Demonstrates a celebration of cultures and promoting a global Aurora. Employs hiring practices that promote a diverse and inclusive workplace.
- Honorable Mention Award for Essential Heroes (Available to community organizations, individuals, nonprofits and community initiatives): Has not closed during COVID-19 restrictions and employees continue to provide essential services on an ongoing basis.
