The Kinds of Kings Bouman Fellowship is an advocacy, access, and amplification program for composers with historically-marginalized identities in the early stages of their composing careers.
Bouman Fellowships highlight and uplift early-career music creators/composers whose identities have been historically and systemically underrepresented and marginalized in music–in regard to race, ethnicity, gender, sex, sexual orientation/identification, and disability.
Funding Information
Composer Fellows receive:
- A $1000 commission to write a new piece to be premiered by The CYO Principals Quartet or Clare Longendyke
- Workshops with the performing ensemble/soloist
- Mentorship throughout the writing process with Kinds of Kings
- A premiere of the commissioned work
Eligibility Criteria
This year’s fellowships are for people currently living in the United States.
