Details:

Grant funding can be used for anything that will enhance economic independence for women, job creation, or take the business to the next level of success.

Prospera Business Network is interested in projects that directly improve the ability of women business owners to become more economically successful. Grant applicants should share a brief compelling story about how they will use or leverage grant funds to grow or strengthen their business and how it will impact their local community.

Types of Grant

  • Urban Impact Grant
    • This Urban application is for businesses that are located in towns with a population of more than 10,000.
  • Rural Impact Grant
    • This Rural application is for businesses that are located in towns with a population of less than 10,000.
  • Statewide Grant
    • This Statewide application is for businesses in all towns, not limited to a specific region within the state but applies to the entire state.

Funding Information

  • The applicants will be divided into Rural, Urban, and Statewide groups. If your business is registered in a town with a population of fewer than 10,000, you qualify for the Rural grants. Businesses registered in towns with more than 10,000 people qualify for the Urban grants. The Statewide grant applies to recipients of rural and urban areas. Both Rural and Urban have a $5,000 grant while the Statewide grant is $8,000.
  • This is a reimbursement grant, the winners in each category will be reimbursed within 30 business days of submitting receipts.

Requirement to apply

  • This is a statewide opportunity for Montana women-owned businesses only, with ownership of 51% or more.
  • Grant applicants must be registered with the MT Secretary of State and be a revenue-generating business for at least 12 months.
  • This opportunity is open only to for-profits.
  • Applicants do not need to be Prospera members.
  • Grant funding cannot be used for a business in the cannabis industry.
  • Applicants can apply for up to $5,000 or $8,000 to be used for equipment, marketing, signage, staffing, trailers, leasehold improvements, anything that will take your business to the next level – please only apply for exactly how much you need.
  • For example, if your project will cost $6,200, you can apply for $6,200 in the $8,000 applicant pool, but you will only get reimbursed the $6,200. If your project costs $6,200 and you apply in the $5,000 pool you will only be reimbursed $5,000.
