Each year, the City of Indianapolis through the City-County Council allocates funding to the Arts Council to grant to Marion County arts organizations.
Grants from the Arts Council will provide investments in the arts and cultural community, reflecting the changes of our growing city and ever-expanding arts community.
Purpose
The Level 1 Operating Support program provides unrestricted investment in the general operations, administration, and programming of eligible arts and cultural organizations in Indianapolis/Marion County. Level 1 Operating Support grant recipients demonstrably advance the Arts Council of Indianapolis’ mission of sustaining a full creative life for all residents of this city. These investments are intended to supplement other revenue, both earned and contributed, generated by the organization.
Level 1 Operating Support Program
Organizations with budgets of less than $250,000 annually, with exceptions for headquartered organizations.
Grant Amount
Currently, awards in this category are up to $10,000, with a minimum of $2,000, however, the final award is conditional upon the availability of funds appropriated and allotted to the Arts Council of Indianapolis from the City of Indianapolis.
