Grant awards are recommended by the Apostle Islands Area Community Fund Advisory Board for initiatives that meet the changing needs of their community in the following six areas:
- Arts
- Environment
- Community, Youth & Family Services
- Civic Projects
- Human Rights
- Adult Education
Within these areas, priority will be given to projects that:
- Strengthen community ties between individuals and collaboration between organizations within their service area (La Pointe-Bayfield-Red Cliff)
- Address underlying causes of community problems
- Undertake studies on matters that impact civic issues or public policy
- Build an organization’s program and/or management capacity
- Respond to community needs that require moderate grant money but produce significant results
- Are new in nature and require start-up funds.

Grants from Unrestricted Funds will not exceed $5,000
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must provide services to residents of the Apostle Islands Area Community Fund’s service area. This area is defined as the Town of La Pointe, Red Cliff Reservation, Town of Russell, City of Bayfield, and Town of Bayfield.
- Organizations must classified as charitable under Section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code or public agencies under Section 17(c)(1).
