Funding Information
The Scholarship Selection Committee will award a $10,000 scholarship to be paid out over the 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 Fall and Spring semesters.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants MUST be a high school senior graduating in 2023 or graduated in 2020, 2021 or 2022, or currently enrolled in a college, university or a vocational school/training program.
Additionally, applicants MUST:
- Provide two (2) character reference letters from either a teacher, guidance counselor, coach, community leader, etc. (Letters of reference should not be written by any Greenbelt City Councilmember).
- Live within the incorporated City limits of Greenbelt.
- Copy of most recent transcript with cumulative grade point average.
- Proof of Residency, can include a copy of most recent utility bill, telephone bill, or copy of a signed lease.
- Official Transcripts with cumulative grade point average or proof of GED completion.
- A copy of the parents/guardians 2022 tax return or a copy of a 2022 W2 or two most recent pay stubs (parents/guardians pay stubs).
- Provide proof they have applied to and/or have been accepted to a post-secondary school or vocational training program.
- Provide an essay (maximum 500 words). Please choose ONE of the below essay topics:
- What traits do you possess that will enhance your education or future career?
- How have you contributed to the Greenbelt community?
- What are your academic/professional goals?
