The program is a partnership between the City of Kalamazoo and United Way of South Central Michigan with support from the city’s Foundation For Excellence. The program is designed to bring relief to Kalamazoo businesses in need of support.
Kalamazoo Micro-Enterprise Grants were designed to bring relief to those hit hardest by the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, with first priority given to businesses owned by Black, Indigenous, and People of Color. Additional priority was given to women-owned businesses and those located within Shared Prosperity Kalamazoo neighborhoods of Eastside, Edison and Northside. The program is a partnership between the City of Kalamazoo and United Way of the Battle Creek and Kalamazoo Region with support from the Consumers Energy Foundation and the city’s Foundation For Excellence.
Eligibility Criteria
Eligible businesses include any for-profit enterprise that can demonstrate the following:
- Has been in operation for at least 1 year in the City of Kalamazoo or Kalamazoo County
- Has 10 employees or fewer.
- Has annual revenue of $1.0 million or less;
- Did not receive KMEG support in 2022.
