Caddo Common Park Grants for Artists and Organizations in Louisiana

The Shreveport Regional Arts Council (SRAC) with funding from the National Endowment for the Arts, Louisiana Division of the Arts, City of Shreveport, and Parish of Caddo will empower Northwest Louisiana Artists and Arts Organizations to create, produce, and/or present projects in Caddo Common Park.

Details:

The activity may take place anywhere in the Park: Performance Pavilion, Great Lawn, Food Court with the Art Trees, and/or Sidewalks. The activity is limited to the boundaries of the Park.

Caddo Common Park Project Grants will engage local participation, create unity among diverse people, advance equity, shed light on the people, places, events, and/or history that comprise the authenticity of Shreveport Common; are accessible to all people, and include an “UNcommon” – Unexpected – UNtraditional, or UNcanny (pick an “UN” word!) element that raises the project, performance/production to an UNforgettable experience.

Selected proposals will receive implementation facilitation from the Shreveport Regional Arts

  • Council to include advice and / or assistance in the following:
    • Application for City Permit, which is required for all public events in Caddo Common Park (due 60 days prior to event).
    • Crockett Street Closure as necessary.
    • Logistics of: Security, Portalets, Trash Removal, Promotion, Tables/Chairs, Libations, Arts Market, and Layout of the event.
    • Lights and Sound based upon negotiated mutually acceptable terms and conditions.

Funding Information

Funding requests range from a minimum of $1,000 to a maximum of $2,500 based upon the length, scope and impact of proposed programming provided in Caddo Common Park.

Eligibility Criteria

  • All private, non-profit 501(c)3 Arts Organizations, College and University Arts Departments within the 10 parishes of Northwest Louisiana (Region 7), as well as individual Artists registered on Culturalyst at the time of the application due date are eligible to apply for Caddo Common Park Project Grant funds. Artists and Arts Organizations must be registered on the Culturalyst directory at the time of submission. All work samples will be viewed on the Culturalyst site.
  • All nonprofit 501(c)3 Arts Organizations must be in good standing with the Louisiana Secretary of State and Louisiana Legislative Auditor to be considered eligible.
  • The nonprofit 501(c)3 Arts Organization will have the term and scope of “Arts” services, programs, and/or projects in the first sentence of the Mission Statement and will have a UEI (Unique Entity Identifier) number.
