The Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation has announced a grant opportunity for nonprofit organizations working toward creating a safe, equitable and thriving Linn County.
Donor Name: Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation
State: Iowa
County: Linn County (IA)
Type of Grant: Grant
Deadline: 11/10/2022
Size of the Grant: $5,000
Details:
The Creating Safe, Equitable & Thriving Communities (SET) Fund was established in 2018 as a partnership with the City of Cedar Rapids, Linn County, and the Cedar Rapids Community School District to address inter-relational factors that lead to youth violence in Cedar Rapids. The goal of the fund is to improve community safety by strengthening economic, social, and academic conditions for youth and neighborhoods. In recent years, a collaborative effort among community partners has focused on implementing the Group Violence Intervention (GVI) strategy developed by the National Network for Safe Communities to focus on reducing gun violence specifically.
This fall, $15,000 from the SET Fund will be available for proposals that build community engagement and partnership in ongoing violence intervention efforts; and/or provide support to youth and young adults who are at high risk of violent victimization or offending.

Grant requests should not exceed $5,000, and any awarded funding can be used at any time throughout 2023.
