Three (3) grants will be available to organizations to provide tobacco and vaping education programs to the communities you already serve in Frederick County. Funded programs must focus on tobacco and vaping prevention activities, such as educating youth in the community about the dangers of tobacco use, vaping, and electronic smoking devices (ESDs).
Priority consideration will be given for projects that provide education to Black/African American, Hispanic, LGBTQ+ youth and include:
- Education on the dangers of tobacco use including but not limited to vaping, including ESDs; hookah and other traditional methods of tobacco use.
- Education delivered to as many youths as possible.
Funding Information
For Fiscal Year 2024, the Frederick County Health Department has funds for three (3) organizations to receive up to $10,000 each. These funds are from the Maryland Department of Health to award to community organizations for tobacco, vaping and electronic smoking devices prevention education for youth.

If you are an organization that primarily serves Frederick County, MD residents, you’re eligible! This includes community coalitions, nonprofits, and small businesses.
