The Arts Council of Fayetteville/Cumberland County is accepting applications for the Project Support Grants to increase cultural arts programming in Cumberland County.

Details:

Cultural arts are defined as projects promoting arts, history, or cultural/ heritage.

The Project Support Grant is supported locally by the City of Fayetteville, Cumberland County, and the Cumberland County Occupancy Tax. State funds are provided through the Grassroots Arts Program administered by the North Carolina Arts Council.

Grant Funding Categories

  • Series Projects
    • This grant category supports projects that provide a series of opportunities for cultural programming. The project must include a schedule of three (3) distinct activities within the program.
  • Inclusive Outreach Projects
    • This grant category supports projects that increase diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion for underserved and underrepresented groups in Cumberland County.
  • Arts Education Projects
    • This grant category supports projects that increase cultural and arts-focused educational opportunities.
  • Cultural Tourism Projects
    • This grant category supports projects that increase cultural tourism through programs that attract visitors to Cumberland County.
  • Military Arts Projects
    • This grant category supports projects that engage active-duty service members, veterans, retirees, and military-families.
  • Residency/ Fellowship Projects o This grant program supports two types of projects:
    • Collaborate cultural projects between two or more 501(c) organizations for the completion of a program.
    • Cultural projects led by an established, professional Cumberland County artist with a 501(c) fiscal sponsor who acts as the presenting organization.

Funding Information

  • Organizations can apply for funding in up to three categories for a maximum request of $30,000.
  • Organizations may request $5,000 – $10,000 for cultural programs. Organizations seeking funds for initiatives with budgets less than $5,000 should apply for a Mini Grant.

Project Duration

Projects must take place between July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024.

Eligibility Criteria

Potential Project Support applicants may be a 501(c), College, University, or Municipal Entity and adhere to the following criteria.

  • 501(c) Organizations must:
    • Maintain an office in Cumberland County.
    • Provide cultural activities, programs, and services for the residents of Cumberland County.
    • Have an up-to-date Charitable Solicitation License (where applicable).
    • Be in good standing with the IRS and NC Secretary of State.
    • Maintain a governing Board that is representative of the diversity of Cumberland County.
    • Have completed all prior grant requirements for ACFCC contracts (if applicable)
  • College, University, and Municipal Entities must:
    • Provide cultural activities, programs, and services for the general public of Cumberland County.
    • Maintain a governing Board or Committee that is representative of the diversity of Cumberland County.
    • Be in good standing with the IRS.
    • Have completed all prior grant requirements for ACFCC contracts (if applicable).
