Details:

The Contracts for Services Program (CFS) seeks to strengthen the cultural health of individuals, organizations, and communities by awarding funding and providing technical assistance to non-profit organizations whose arts programming supports arts and cultural services to Fulton County residents. Funding is awarded through service contracts that specify the art services individual artists or organizations must provide in exchange for financial support from Fulton County.

Funding is awarded for the following priorities:

  • Providing cultural access for the diverse citizenry of Fulton County with a focus on youth, seniors, individuals with disabilities, and populations and districts underserved through the arts
  • Catalyzing for capacity building and stabilizing arts and cultural organizations throughout
    the County
  • Encouraging the highest standards of artistic quality and excellence
  • Creating an environment that encourages the growth and development of arts organizations and individual artists
  • Stimulating neighborhood development and facilitating creativity within communities throughout Fulton County
  • Fostering partnerships between the public and private sectors of Fulton County
  • Contributing to the economic well-being of the community, including the ability to attract new businesses and residents

Funding Information

The Fulton County Department of Arts & Culture (FCAC) announces funding ranging from $1,000 to $50,000 for Fulton County-based arts, cultural and community-based non-profit organizations, and artist collectives for the 2023 funding cycle.

Criteria

Non-Profits, Arts and Cultural Institutions & Civic Groups

CFS provides funding to non-profit organizations that meet the following conditions:

  • The organization must be based in and provide most of its services within Fulton County.
  • The organization must be incorporated as a nonprofit organization in Georgia.
  • The organization must be able to document acceptance of nonprofit status by the Internal
    Revenue.
  • Newly formed organizations with a 501(c)3 status active for less than three years are eligible to apply for up to $5,000 for their first-year funding request in the Emerging Arts Fund category. The age of the organization is determined by the effective date for the 501(c)(3) as designated by the IRS and identified on the Letter of Designation.
  • First-time applicants with a 501(c)(3) status for four years and above (all budget sizes) are eligible to apply in the Project Support Funds category.

Individual Artists

CFS provides funding to artists that meet the following conditions:

  • Individual artists are eligible to apply for funding support only in the Individual Artist
    category.
  • Artists must have a residence in Fulton.
  • Reside in Fulton County for at least one year before the deadline, and live and work in Fulton County.
  • A post office box or studio is not allowed as proof of the individual artist’s Fulton County residency status.

Municipalities

CFS provides funding to Fulton County cities that meet the following conditions:

  • Cultural Divisions or units, or Departments of one of the 15 Fulton County municipalities, are eligible to apply for project support for art activities led by arts professionals and open to the public.

Colleges, Universities and Local Schools

CFS provides funding to local colleges, universities and secondary schools that meet the following conditions:

  • Units or departments of higher education institutions are eligible to apply for project support for activities open to the public, and that reach or serve a significant (50% or more) nonstudent population.
  • Local schools must present curriculum-based arts education projects that engage arts educators and professional artists in planning and execution.
  • These projects must be open to the public. Nonprofit, independent schools are eligible to apply for community-based arts programs only.
  • The applicant must demonstrate in the application how the project will reach its targeted audience.
  • Activities must be led by an arts professional.

Municipalities, public schools, independent schools, not-for-profit schools, colleges, and universities must be based in Fulton County.
