Dated: December 29, 2022

The City of Euclid has partnered with CHN Housing Capital to administer grant awards of up to $7,500 to eligible homeowners in Euclid’s Heritage Park neighborhood

Donor Name: City of Euclid

State: Ohio

City: Euclid

Type of Grant: Grant

Deadline: 01/13/2023

Size of the Grant: Up to $7,500

Details:

This grant money can be used by owner-occupants of single or two-family homes in the neighborhood to make street visible home beautification repairs such as paint and siding repair, porch repair, tuck-pointing, window and door replacement, foundation repair, driveway repair, exterior lighting repair and more. There are no income restrictions to receive this grant money, but homeowners must be current on their property taxes or on an active payment plan to be considered. Funds are limited and must be spent by the end of 2023.

Euclid’s Heritage Park neighborhood boundaries are Euclid Avenue to the south, and the railroad tracks to the north, the border with Cleveland to the west, and East 219th Street to the east. The neighborhood is primarily made up of medium-sized (three or four-bedroom) to small (studio to two-bedroom) single-family and two-family homes built between the 1920s and the 1940s. Euclid has been focused on making investments in the Heritage Park neighborhood, including the improvements to the neighborhood park on East 193rd Street, renovating the Euclid Avenue Mini-Station, and repaving Euclid Avenue.

Funding Information

  • The Heritage Park Home Repair Grant Program will invest at least $270,000 into the housing stock in the Heritage Park neighborhood. The Program was created by the City of Euclid using $100,000.00 in available funding from City American Rescue Plan Act monies and $200,000 in funding from Cuyahoga County’s ARPA Allocation. Euclid received over $25 million in ARPA funds and reserved over $500,000.00 for Housing and Community Development activities, $100,000.00 of which will be administered directly to eligible Heritage Park homeowners via this grant program.
  • You may be eligible for a grant up to $7,500 for exterior curb-appeal home beautification repairs.

Eligible Homeowners

There are no income restrictions. Homeowners must be current on property taxes or on an active payment plan. Grant applicants will be asked to verify their income to assist with the program reporting and determine eligibility for other home repair programs.

Eligible Homes

Eligible homes are single or double homes located in part of a “qualified census tract” (See map below) within the Heritage Park neighborhood.

Eligible Repairs

Examples include: paint and siding repair, street-visible tuck pointing, porch repair, street-visible window and door replacement and repair, street-visible waterproofing and foundation repair, driveway repair, and exterior lightning replacement and repair. Moderate accessibility repairs, such as step railing, and trip hazard repairs are also eligible.
