- Improve or increase park and recreational opportunities for the general public.
- Encourage private investment and participation in developing City park and recreational amenities.
- Enhance the quality of life in Richland.
Funding Information
The 2024 program year is currently budgeted at $40,000.
Eligibility Criteria
- To be eligible, proposed projects must be located upon City-owned Parks, park facilities, recreational properties, or within publicly accessible park land or easements.
- This program is open to service and civic groups, athletic and sports organizations, private individuals, neighborhood park user groups, and non-profit organizations.
- Proposed projects should be in conformance with park master plans, as applicable.
- The proposed project must be an enhancement or renovation project that provides benefit to the general public year-round.
- The proposed project must not require City labor components, permitting, or any additional ongoing City maintenance aside from normal wear and tear.
- Park Partnership Program applicants must provide a minimum match of one private dollar for each public dollar requested. up to the allowable amount outlined in RCW 35.21.278. Private dollar matches may consist of cash, donated labor, and/or donated materials.
- Proposed projects must be consistent and complimentary with surrounding land uses and neighborhood character, and not create hazards or impact the functionality or usability of the park or facility.
- Projects that require a long term (more than one year) commitment will not be considered.
