Eligibility Criteria
An arts organization meeting all criteria listed below is eligible to apply for funding from the City of Lewisville Hotel Occupancy Tax Fund:
- Nonprofit tax-exempt arts organizations;
- Proposing a program/event/exhibition to take place within the city limits of Lewisville. Events may be held outside of Lewisville with approval of the City Council; Must have successfully fulfilled all prior contractual obligations to City of Lewisville;
- Must have local (Lewisville resident) representation on Board of Directors; and
- A representative of the organization must have attended the pre-application training session to be scheduled annually.
There will be a mandatory workshop for all potential grant applicant groups on Thursday, March 23, at 6 p.m. This year’s training session will be held via Zoom. This annual, required training session is held to learn about changes to the application and its requirements, details about using the online tool for applying, and reporting expectations.
At least one representative of any interested applicant organization must attend this training in order to qualify for a grant.
Criteria
Applications shall be reviewed and evaluated by the Arts Advisory Board and the Lewisville City Council to determine if the following criteria are being met:
- Impact of the program on Tourism
- Benefit of the program to the community.
- Opportunity for Lewisville citizens to participate in the program.
- The capability of the organization to manage and produce the proposed program; and
- Validity of proposed budget as indicated by past financial performance; and
- The artistic merit and quality of the proposed program.
