Proposals are assessed by a committee of trusted professionals and active community volunteers on organization strength, community need or opportunity, feasibility and impact, project budget and the role of the CRCF grant.
The Cattaraugus Region Community Foundation is growing good by connecting donors to the causes they care about most in the region. Grants from the foundation support many areas, including education, scholarships, health care, the arts, community development, human service, and youth development.
Project Areas
Community Fund grants support innovative projects in areas that include, but are not limited to:
- animal welfare
- arts and culture
- community/economic development
- education
- environment
- health and wellness
- human services
- mental health
- recreation
- youth development
Funding Information
Requests should not exceed $2,500.
Eligibility Criteria
- The Community Fund makes possible unrestricted, responsive grantmaking to support projects and initiatives led by nonprofit organizations that impact the changing needs of Cattaraugus County residents.
- Applicants must be 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organizations or a government entity or school district.
- School districts, universities and government organizations and religious institutions are also eligible to apply.
Ineligibility
CRCF grants are not intended to fund areas such as:
- ongoing annual/operational needs
- salary and fringe
- marketing/advertising
- sponsorships of fundraising events
- endowment building
- religious purposes (see exclusion above)
- loans or assistance to individuals
- political purposes
- organizations that discriminate on the basis of gender, religion, sexual orientation, ethnicity, national origin or physical ability
- activities that occurred before the Foundation’s decision date.
