This grant cycle is supported through the County’s lodging tax. The purpose of the Lodging Tax Tourism grant program is to bring tourism into Whatcom County and promote economic activity.
Activities which will be considered eligible for assistance include: but are not limited to, those that:
- Increase tourism by advertising
- Publicize and distribute information for the purpose of attracting and welcoming tourists
- Develop strategies to expand tourism
- Operate tourism promotion agencies
- Fund and market events and festivals designed to attract tourists
- Construct tourism-related facilities.
Eligible Entities
- Non-Profits, provide copy of 501 (c) (3), (4) or (6) letter
- For-Profits, provide copy of current/valid Business License and IRS Employee Tax I.D. number
