The Connie Boochever Artist Fellowship recognizes and supports emerging artists of exceptional talent living in Alaska. It is awarded through the Connie Boochever Endowment by the Alaska Arts and Culture Foundation and administered by the Alaska State Council on the Arts.
Fellowship funds can be used broadly but must relate to the fellow’s creative career. In 2025, the fellowship focuses on performing arts, including theatre and music. A select number of $3,000 fellowships are awarded every two years, with specific disciplines funded in alternating cycles.
Eligibility is limited to emerging professional artists who live in Alaska and are actively pursuing their art. These artists are defined as creators who take risks, embrace challenges, and show significant potential through a developing body of work. They should be rigorous in their creative process and have some professional achievements but not be widely recognized as established by peers or arts professionals.
Applicants must be legal residents of Alaska, at least 18 years old, and not full-time students enrolled in art-related degree or certification programs. Applications must come from individual artists, not groups, and previous Connie Boochever Fellowship recipients are not eligible.
