The Camas-Washougal Community Chest was established in 1946 when a group of concerned citizens formed to coordinate raising funds for local 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations involved with education, youth education, aiding those with special needs, natural resource conservation, health and welfare, crisis and emergency services, and other charitable and civic endeavors. All recipients of Community Chest funding must provide services within the Camas-Washougal area.
Criteria
- Applicants must demonstrate that all or a high percentage of their funds will be used to support the Camas/Washougal communities.
- Grant monies are distributed quarterly beginning March 2025.
- Grantees must file a written report detailing fund use at the end of 9 months, in December 2025.
- Deviations from the proposed use of funds must be reviewed, discussed and approved by the CWCC Board before using funds in a different way than originally approved.
