Upon the NPO leader’s completion of the program, IEHPF is providing 10-week nonprofit operations training program and $5,000 grant intended to strengthen infrastructure such as professional services, software, equipment, and other general operating and non-programmatic expenses. Through this program, NPOs will be better equipped to expand their reach, services and resources to help inspire and ignite the health of the Inland Empire. In total, 25 organizations will be selected for this grant opportunity.
Eligibility Criteria
Nonprofit, public benefit organizations with evidence of tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and:
- Have been operating for no less than 3 years.
- Have had an annual operating budget of $500,000 or less over the past 3 years.
- Have not been classified as a Private Foundation
- Provide direct services and/or engage in advocacy efforts focused on at least one of the following Vital Conditions for Health and Wellbeing:
- Basic Needs for Health & Safety
- Humane Housing
- Meaningful Work & Wealth
- Are headquartered and have a significant presence in Riverside and/or San Bernardino County and primarily serve Inland Empire families with children (18 years and younger) from one or more of the following priority populations:
- Low-income households and/or those living in poverty
- Communities of Color
- Communities furthest from health equity. This includes cities with a Healthy Places Index (HPI) score lower than the 25th percentile.
- Communities that are remote or rural
- Have an organizational leader (e.g., CEO, Executive Director, President, Director, etc.) who can commit to attending and completing the 10-week nonprofit operations training program.
- Fiscally sponsored organizations are eligible to apply.
- Organizations that have received a 2024 Spring or Summer Collaborative Capacity Building Grant and/or are part of the 2025-2026 Leadership Network are not eligible to apply.
