The mission of The Landfall Foundation is to provide support to non-profit organizations and schools serving Brunswick, New Hanover and Pender Counties.
Types of Grants
To ensure they can support initiatives of all sizes, our grants are now organized by funding levels.
- Micro Grants: These grants are ideal for smaller programs or projects and offer organizations the opportunity to sustain or grow their impact. New for 2025, organizations can apply for capital improvements that are less than $10,000.
- Macro Grants: Approximately 3-5 will be awarded annually. These grants are designed for high-impact initiatives. These selective grants will focus on projects or programs that can bring about transformative change in the community. These may include capital projects designed to improve, expand or repair existing facilities or the purchase of major equipment that supports the organization’s mission.

- Micro Grants: Up to $10,000.
- Macro Grants: $10,001 to $50,000.
Eligibility Criteria
- Eligible organizations must be a non-profit and tax exempt as defined by section 501(c)(3) of the IRS code and must include a copy of your IRS Tax Exemption letter.
- The grant request must be to partially or fully fund your project or program in the areas of arts, health and welfare and/or education.
- Your organization is NOT eligible for a grant if:
- Beneficiaries of your project are not within New Hanover, Pender or Brunswick counties.
- Elementary or Middle School is not designated as a Title 1 school
- Public and charter schools are not eligible for capital grants, including furniture, fixtures, and equipment. Only program and service related requests will be considered.
- The organization operates as a private non-operating foundation.
- The grant is primarily for operating expenses, such as administrative costs, general overhead, advertising or signage, principal and interest payments on debt.
- The grant is for costs of capital items already acquired or the purchase of real estate.
- The grant is for a start-up organization (the date of your IRS determination letter must be two years before the date of submission of this application).
- The organization’s proposed project or capital improvement includes or directly involves the promotion or advancement of any political or religious beliefs.
- The organization will transfer any portion of a Landfall Foundation Grant Award to any other organization.
- The organization is a local branch of a national organization with internal fundraising staff.
- The organization discriminates on the basis of age, disability, ethnic origin, gender, sexual orientation, race or religion.
- The grant application is for research, feasibility studies or engineering and planning.
