The Harford County funds support nonprofit and community-based organizations that deliver services, programs, and facility improvements benefiting low- to moderate-income (LMI) Harford County residents. Funding is subject to federal, state, and County requirements, and is highly competitive. Programs and Projects which most closely align with department priorities, demonstrate the ability to execute in a timely manner compliant with all grant requirements, and primarily benefit Harford County LMI residents will be considered first for funding. Submission of an application does not guarantee an award.
Nonprofit Capital Projects must improve a public facility, which is defined as:
- A building or space owned by local government or a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization
- A building or space whose primary purpose is to provide services to members of the general public
- A building or space which is open during regular business hours for public use
Goal
Grants will meet this goal by supporting the following programs:
- Capital projects which result in the expansion of services for special populations at a public facility
- Capital projects which ameliorate critical facility deficiencies which, left unaddressed, will eliminate or reduce existing services for special populations at a public facility
- Capital projects which improve or introduce facility accessibility for people with special needs at a public facility
