Funding Information
Eligible applicants can receive up to $750 per acre for hand-cutting treatments, up to $2,000 per acre for heavy equipment treatment and up to $1,500. The maximum total reimbursement per landowner is $20,000.
Eligibility Criteria
- Landowners and municipalities in 39 Central Texas counties are eligible for the Mechanical Fuel Reduction grant. The grant aims to reduce the risk of home loss to wildfire in Central Texas by using fuel reduction practices including hand-cut and mulching treatments.
- The central texas 39 counties are: Austin, Bastrop (partial), Bell (partial), Brazos, Brown, Burleson, Burnet, Coke, Coleman, Colorado, Comal, Concho, Ector, Edwards, Fayette, Glasscock, Grimes, Hays, Irion, Kerr, Kimble, Lampasas, Lee, Llano, Madison, Mason, McCulloch, Menard, Midland, Mills, Real, Runnels, San Saba, Sterling, Tom Green, Travis (partial), Waller, Washington, and Williamson (partial) counties.
