Details:
ERF provide material support for climate activism and initiatives that raise awareness about the climate crisis. They recognize that climate change is not simply a technical problem; it implicates every aspect of social life, and can only be approached systemically. In keeping with this understanding, initiatives include:
- Supporting the youth climate movement
- Elevating Indigenous voices and stewardship practices
- Developing compelling visions of a just and sustainable future
- Highlighting how climate change intersects with and exacerbates existing injustices
- Promoting regenerative agriculture to draw down carbon.
Focus Areas
- Indigenous Voices
- Indigenous voices have been marginalized for too long by a genocidal and ecocidal system that has led us to the brink of climate catastrophe and the sixth great extinction.
- Regenerative Agriculture
- Mitigation alone is no longer enough; they will need to draw carbon out of the atmosphere. One of the best ways to do this is by transforming agriculture.
- Climate Intersections
- Climate change intersects with and exacerbates existing injustices. They aim to highlight the connections between climate change and struggles for racial justice, gender equality, freedom of movement, and self-determination.
- Sustainable Visions
- They need an affirmative vision of how political and economic life can work for everyone, including non-humans and future generations.
- Youth Activism
- Young people will have to live with the impacts of the climate crisis. Because of this, they have both the understanding and the moral authority to lead on this issue.
