The Phillip and Edith Leonian Foundation funds projects and programs related to the education, preservation, and dissemination of photography. The Foundation funds photography-based programs or projects related to the following:
- Education: Beginner or intermediate photography education classes that benefit either K-12 students or adults. Proposals for education programs related to exhibitions should be submitted in this category
- Professional Development: Workshops, mentorships or training sessions for photographers, fellowships, internships, artist residencies, or other photo-related professional development programs
- Archiving / Cataloging: Archiving, keywording, cataloging, or otherwise preserving photographic collections
- Community Projects: Projects that focus on documentary photography within a community, with a strong component of community collaboration
- Exhibitions: Solo or group shows with exhibition budgets under $50,000
- Other Photography Projects: Personal photography projects, awards, honoraria, or other.
