Purpose
- To provide in support to individual artists for projects that enhance, expand or improve their work
- Projects must support gaining news skills or training needed to develop a thriving arts career or art-based business
Funding Information
Grants Up to $5,000.
Eligible Expenses
- Fees associated with an opportunity for advanced study with a significant mentor (outside of a classroom setting, unrelated to any degree program). Letter of support, syllabus, or curriculum outline, and signed contract from mentor artist required.
- Registration and travel expenses associated with a professional artistic opportunity, conference, seminar, residency, or workshop
- Materials and equipment to complete work for a scheduled exhibition, performance, publication, or unique artistic opportunity that will significantly advance an artist’s career
- Fees associated with hiring a consultant or agency to develop website, online shop, or social media marketing
- Purchasing new equipment relevant to area of artistry
Eligibility Criteria
Any artist who:
- Is 18 years of age or older
- Is a legal resident of West Virginia
- Has submitted all final reports in conjunction with previous grants
