The Conservation and Environment grant is available to nonprofits that promote conservation and
environmental stewardship, and the preservation of open space in North Texas.
Funding Information
- Grants for educational programming will be awarded up to $10,000 per organization.
- Grants for conservation & environment projects will be awarded up to $35,000 per organization
Geographical Areas
Bosque, Denton, Hill, Hood, Jack, Johnson, Parker, Somervell, Tarrant, Wise, and Young Counties.
Eligibility Criteria
- 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations in continuous operation for a minimum of three consecutive calendar years at the time of application.
- Nonprofits with programs or projects in one of the above geographic locations.
- Nonprofits with a minimum operating budget of $75,000.
Eligible Funding Requests
- Projects that directly contribute to the conservation of native Texas species and habitats (e.g. urban green spaces, parks, community gardens, landscaped medians and parkways, prairie restoration, urban conservation, etc.)
- Programs providing education regarding the importance of protection of the land and natural resources.
- Preservation of North Texas area land utilized for agricultural purposes, wildlife, or botanical resources.
- Organizations that help build on existing conservation efforts while strengthening the whole operation.
