Designed to strengthen Buhler’s resilience and capacity, the Fund for Buhler is the unrestricted grantmaking fund that allows Buhler Community Foundation to invest in our partner organizations to address the ever-changing and diverse needs and dreams of Buhler. Each year grants from Buhler CF fund programs demonstrating innovative ideas or critical needs, which can range from health and human services, to the arts, to parks and nature. Projects must fall within the USD 313 boundaries.
Among Buhler’s strongest assets are the community-based organizations and nonprofits that enhance the lives of the people they serve and community’s quality of life. They believe that high-performing, adaptive, and collaborative organizations are essential to ensuring Buhler is a place where dreams are fulfilled through the power of philanthropy.
Funding Information
Grant awards have typically ranged from $300 to $5,000 but have averaged around $2,500. Larger requests will be considered, particularly for collaborations, innovations, and efforts around systems and environment change.
Eligibility Criteria
- Proposals must come from organizations that are exempt from federal income tax under Section 501(c)(3) and serve Buhler, which for grant purposes extends beyond the city limits to include the USD 313 boundaries. Special purpose units of government may apply for support of innovative projects. Community groups who do not have a 501(c)(3) status may apply for grant awards if another tax-exempt organization acts as a fiscal sponsor. Grant proposals from individuals or non-qualifying organizations will not be considered.
