Details:

The City of Enid receives CDBG Entitlement funds that the City administers. Eligible community development and affordable housing activities include, but are not limited to, programming or projects that address local housing, housing-related supportive services, crime prevention, mental health, welfare, neighborhood revitalization, or recreation capital projects benefitting low- and moderate-income neighborhoods in the city of Enid.

Goals

The City of Enid CDBG Program strives to:

  • Address obstacles to meeting underserved needs
  • Foster decent housing, public housing improvements, and resident initiatives
  • Evaluate and reduce lead-based paint hazards
  • Reduce the number of persons below the poverty line
  • Develop institutional structures
  • Enhance coordination between public and private housing and social service agencies

Eligible Activities

CDBG applications are being accepted from 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations for the following activities:

  • Public Facility & Improvements
  • Housing and Homeless Prevention
  • Youth Facilities, Youth Programs and Youth Services
  • Mental Health and Substance Abuse Programs
  • Parks & Recreation Facilities
  • Street & Sidewalk Improvements
  • Clearance, Demolition, Remediate, Code Enforcement
  • Neighborhood Cleanups
  • Rehab for Single-Unit and Multi-Unit Residential

For-profit organizations may apply for the following activities:

  • Economic Development to For-Profits
  • Economic Development Technical Assistance
  • Micro-Enterprise Assistance
  • Rehab Public/Private-owned Commercial/Industrial

Eligibility Criteria

  • The City of Enid does NOT provide grants to individuals or to for-profit businesses.
  • The City of Enid may provide a portion of its CDBG funds on a competitive basis to eligible 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations to undertake projects using the federal award for specific, eligible activities that meet the CDBG National Objectives, will further the City’s goals and objectives, and match the priorities established in the Consolidated Plan.
  • Beneficiaries of CDBG-funded projects must be low- to moderate-income persons who make less than 80 percent of the area median income.
  • Other eligibility requirements apply and vary from project to project. The City does not provide direct services to citizens. If you are eligible for services provided by one of our subrecipients, you must contact that agency directly. Subrecipient organizations are responsible for the qualification and approval of services.
