Funding Information

The Hemet Kitchen Grant offers financial assistance to aspiring restaurateurs in the Hemet Downtown District. This program aims to stimulate economic growth and revitalize the area by supporting the creation of new culinary businesses. Specifically, the grant provides funding of up to $300,000 to cover the costs associated with building a restaurant kitchen.

Grant Period

Project must be completed within eighteen (18) months of building permit issuance.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the Hemet Downtown Kitchen Grant Program, applicants must meet specific criteria:

  • Applicant Type:
    • New Restaurants: Businesses planning to establish a new restaurant within the designated Downtown Hemet district are eligible to apply. This includes both new businesses and existing businesses that are expanding to the downtown area.
    • Existing Restaurants: Established restaurants within the district may also be eligible to apply for funding to significantly expand their operations. This may include implementing major kitchen renovations, expanding their menu offerings, enhancing customer experience, improving operational efficiency, and implementing innovative technologies.
  • Location: All applicants must be located within the clearly defined boundaries of the designated Downtown Hemet district, as determined by the City of Hemet.
