This Program is designed to encourage property owners and businesses to invest in the visual appeal of their buildings, which will enhance the overall aesthetic of the city, help preserve the historic buildings, and stimulate economic growth. Funding Information
The program provides a 75% matching grant to reimburse up to $25,000 for approved exterior property improvements, encouraging property owners and tenants to invest in the visual appeal of their buildings.
Eligible Improvements
Projects eligible for funding include, but are not limited to:
- Exterior painting or repairs
- Signage updates or replacements
- Window and door upgrades
- Awnings or canopies
- Brick or masonry restoration
- Landscaping or lighting enhancements
- Parking lot improvements.
Eligibility Criteria
The following criteria must be met for participation in the City of Snyder Chapter 380 Facade Grant Program:
- Applicants must be commercial property owners or commercial tenants located within Snyder city limits. Tenants must have written approval from property owners to participate in the program.
- Applicants must be current on all municipal taxes prior to participation in the grant program.
- Applicants must not have any city liens filed against any property owned by the Applicant; including but not limited to code enforcement liens or tax liens.
- Applicants must comply with all state and local laws and regulations pertaining to licensing, permits, building code and zoning requirements.
- Improvements made prior to written approval (Notice to Proceed) by the City of Snyder will not be funded.
- Applicants must follow all guidelines and procedures as outlined in the Program Guidelines.
- Nonprofit businesses are eligible for the Facade Grant if they are an active sales taxpayer with the comptroller’s office.
- First time Applicants will be considered before any property address or Applicant that have entered into an Economic Improvement Initiative Agreement with the DCOS or been awarded a grant from the City’s Chapter 380 Facade Grant Program within the past two years.
- The overall objective of the program is to improve the facade exterior, visibility, and presentation of a property; the City of Snyder has the discretion to decline an application while suggesting enhancements that would enable future acceptance.
