Details:

This funding opportunity will support experiments, studies, surveys, demonstrations, research, trainings and investigations that provide information specific to management questions and concerns, inform Agency policy, and provide understanding of south Florida aquatic ecosystems.

Funding Information

The amount of funding is expected to be $250,000 to $750,000, depending on Agency funding levels, the quality of applications received, agency priorities, and other applicable considerations.

Grant Period

Awards funded under this opportunity are expected to have a 3-5 year project period.

Eligible Projects

Eligible projects include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Supporting monitoring, research or innovative restoration efforts for key species (e.g. coral, seagrass, sponges, mangroves, herbivores, etc);
  • Research, investigation, and demonstration projects to mitigate harmful algal blooms;
  • Near-shore and upstream pollution reduction demonstration projects;
  • Innovative stormwater pollution reduction demonstration projects;
  • Water quality and benthic habitat monitoring improvements;
  • Research and management strategies to address contaminants of emerging concern;
  • Identifying and understanding cause-effect relationships of pollutants in the environment;
  • Applying innovative approaches, methods, or techniques to prevent, treat, and manage pollution from entering waterbodies;
  • Investigating regional water quality impacts from pollution sources and as a result of storms or flooding; and
  • Sourcing, monitoring, or addressing pathogens in near shore waters.
