A portion of the annual distributions of the Flint Hills Community Fund will be used to provide support for community and rural development: museums/historic preservation; and agriculture and conservation.
Criteria
Applications for the Flint Hills Community Fund, Community and Rural Programs, will primarily consider specific individual projects that will make a difference using the stated mission in designated counties. The ECF is pro-actively seeking out opportunities toward the mission of the fund. The committee will also consider collaboration with other funds in determining recommendation
Guidelines
- The grants do not support other fundraising projects
- The grants do not support entities that have taxing authority except for specific one- time
special projects that are innovative and above the basic services provided by those
entities. - The grants do not support annual drives or repetitive grants.
- The grants are not available for individuals.
- The grants are not available for funding personnel positions or operating expenses.
- Projects with a high degree of volunteerism will be given extra consideration.
- The grants do fund multiple year grants or pledges.
- Matches in dollars and/or volunteer hours are good, but not mandatory.
- Strong consideration will be given to organizations that want to expand their operations;
however, already have sufficient operating income and/or other funds. - The majority of the program or project must provide services or impact residents in the
County selected for the particular year.
