The City of Orting offers grant funding to support services and organizations that provide significant value to its citizens and serve a public purpose. The City prioritizes funding requests from groups serving seniors, youth, the infirm or disabled, and people in need within Orting. Priority is given to groups serving senior citizens aged 65 and older, people with disabilities eligible for Pierce County tax exemptions, and food bank recipients.
Grant amounts vary based on years of funding, with a maximum of $10,000 in the first year. In subsequent years, funding decreases as a percentage of prior year revenue, with no more than $2,000 awarded from the sixth year onward.
Eligible organizations must have IRS 501(c)(3) tax-exempt or nonprofit status and provide proof upon request. They are required to carry their own insurance and agree to use the funds for the public purpose stated in their application. Organizations must serve residents within the City of Orting or the Orting School District.
Approved organizations must include the City of Orting logo on all materials distributed using the grant funds. The application deadline is August 21, 2025.
