In ensuring that the County of Hunterdon is broadly supporting community through these funds, they are providing the following information to help nonprofits determine their potential eligibility and to outline the process, funding amounts, and funding requirements.

Funding Information

The County of Hunterdon has a total of $1,000,000 set aside to support local nonprofits who were on the front lines of responding to the COVID-19 Public Emergency Health Crisis and those who have experienced negative economic impacts as a result of the crisis. The minimum amount awarded to a given organization is $5,000 and the maximum amount is $100,000.

Funds may be requested for

  • Negative Economic Impacts Allowable Projects:
    • Household Assistance including Food Programs, Rent, mortgage and utility aid, cash transfers, and internet access; Unemployment benefits or cash assistance to unemployed workers; Job training assistance.
  • Aid to Nonprofits Allowable Projects:
    • Ongoing operations support to nonprofit organizations whose mission is directly related to providing community critical responses to the COVID-19 Emergency Public Health Crisis, or nonprofit organizations whose operations or finances have been adversely affected by the crisis’ health effects and economic effect.
    • Additionally, these funds come with a stated purpose to prioritize funding for communities or populations (defined by Qualified Census Tract or by evidence provided by the recipient) that have been disproportionately impacted by the pandemic, and that list includes an expanded list of allowable projects such as:
  • Services to Disproportionately Impacted Communities Allowable Projects:
    • Education Assistance in early learning, aid to high-poverty districts, academic services, and social, emotional, and mental health services; Healthy Childhood Environments for childcare, home visiting, services to foster youth and families in the child welfare system; Housing Support like affordable housing, services for unhoused persons; Social Determinants of Health like lead remediation, community violence interventions, and community health workers or benefits navigators.

Eligibility Criteria

This program has been designed to specifically to support nonprofits who serve residents of Hunterdon County.
