Eligibility Criteria
Grant applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered for funding:
- The program must directly benefit residents of Brevard County.
- Organization is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization (or equivalent).
- Health First’s support for Brevard’s students is through partnership with Brevard Public Schools; private schools or institutions are not eligible for a wellness grant.
- The program must address one of the identified priority areas (nutrition, physical activity, weight management, or access to healthcare services) or one of the additional areas of interest (food insecurity or homelessness), with a focus on reducing future needs for those served.
- Priority given to new or expanding evidenced-based programs and activities.
- Applicants should demonstrate how the program can be sustained beyond the grant funding period.
- Funding is not for general operations, endowments, construction, campaigns, or debt reduction.
