BGE Community Safety Grants recognize the significance of enhancing the quality of life in the communities in which they serve by strategically investing in projects that positively influence the safety, resilience, and vibrancy of neighborhoods. To accomplish this, they will invest in collaborations with community organizations who share this goal and are committed to partnership with emergency responders. This will ensure a comprehensive approach to safety and resiliency in the communities.

- Investment in the revitalization of community spaces to foster a safe and vibrant atmosphere for community engagement and use such as:
- Safe Space Support
- Investment in safe and supportive spaces for individuals; including resources that promote mental and emotional well-being in community such as:
- Education or Outreach to Promote Safe Spaces.
- Mediation
- Trauma Informed Care
- Youth Diversion/Development
- Home fire/carbon monoxide/natural gas detectors safety/awareness.
- Programs that provide services to enhance physical and socio-emotional safety.
- Safe Spaces – Home Carbon Monoxide, Gas Safety, Smoke Detection, Fire Prevention, Safety, and Awareness.

- Basic First Aid and Emergency Response Training.
- Addressing Water Infrastructure, Remedying Flooding and Stormwater Pollution Issues.

Funding Information
BGE Community Safety grants range in amounts between $2,500 and $10,000.
Grant Period
June 2025-June 2026.
Eligibility Criteria
- Organization must be a 501c3 non-profit.
- The project must be geographically located in the BGE service territory.
- All applications must include a project budget indicating how the grant will be spent.
- Applicants requesting funding for basic operating expenses or capital projects will not be accepted.
- Organizations who receive a Community Safety Grant will not be eligible for another grant in 2025.
