This program provides communities within the service area with access to safe, reliable tap water to hydrate immediately or refill personal, reusable bottles.
Funding Information
This program will award funding up to $2,500 to put towards the purchase of a bottle filling station to select eligible organizations that serve New Jersey American Water’s service territory.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must be registered with the IRS as a 501(c)(3) public charity and provide public access to the bottle filling station, or a K-12 public school, college, or university. To focus the giving, there are projects and organizations the American Water Charitable Foundation doesn’t fund- this includes individuals, government entities such as townships or municipalities, faith-based and religious organizations such as churches, synagogues, mosques, and other organizations that automatically qualify for 501(c)(3) status as a church. Exceptions to public charity status may occur on a limited basis.
