This is a 32-hour instructor-led training designed to enhance the leadership capacity of pretrial professionals who are required to influence sound pretrial policy and practice. The training has pre-session assignments, such as reading assignments and an agency assessment. In-person work includes lectures, small group work, and individual assignments. The training provides participants with a collaborative learning and problem-solving environment designed to strengthen networking and resources required to manage the complexities of the pretrial executive position.
Goals
The program narrative should reflect how the applicant will accomplish these program goals.
- Capture of curricula through the complete documentation, review, and evaluation of the curriculum—NIC’s Pretrial Executive Directors Orientation Program—via blended in-person and virtual, delivery of the training program. NIC will be responsible for the delivery and facilitation of this 4-day training program in Aurora, CO, in its current format. The awardee will attend this training to conduct the “curriculum capture”.
- Develop a revised curriculum for an NIC training program using NIC-provided templates based on the findings from the curriculum capture. This includes the development/revision of all training curriculum materials (e.g., facilitator’s guide, participant manual, presentation slides, handouts, and other needed training resources based on NIC’s ITIP model).
- Pilot the revised curriculum to capture final revisions to the curriculum. This includes providing team of trainers (3 to 4) to facilitate and deliver one offering of the revised curriculum. This involves working with the NIC program manager to manage needed training logistics, including the selection of training date and site.
- Finalize all curriculum training materials, using NIC’s ITIP model, from the capture and pilot phases. This will include the facilitator’s guide, participant manual, presentation slides, handouts, and other identified resources. NIC will make final approval of the entire training package.
Objectives
The following are objectives the awardee must meet to successfully satisfy this scope of work: - Kickoff Meeting
- The NIC program manager and the awardee will set a date and time for an initial kickoff meeting to begin work to establish the project expectations and roles and responsibilities.
- Audit Current Course Materials Using NIC’s Course Design Audit Checklist
- The awardee will audit existing curriculum package materials for the course using NIC’s course design audit checklist, which NIC will send to the awardee.
- Curriculum Capture / Course Documentation / Course Development Begins
- The awardee begins documentation and any needed curriculum development on both curricula based upon the audit checklist results and the observation of the training program delivery.
- Course Development for NIC Review: As documented materials / any needed new curriculum development is identified. The awardee will compile the results of the course audit checklists, recommended content revisions, delivery strategies, training material edits, and recommendations into a review-and-evaluation report for the training.
- Delivery of Pilot Training Course for Final Content Revisions, Delivery Strategies, and Materials
- NIC will work with the awardee to select a date and time to pilot the training. The awardee will be responsible for hiring the trainers to facilitate the pilot training session. NIC will be responsible for all participant travel and lodging expenses to the pilot. Final changes to the curriculum will be made after this training delivery.
