Project Connect: Civic Life & Belonging Grants support creative, community-driven initiatives that bring people together. These grants focus on strengthening civic life, connection, and belonging in Lewis, Mason, and Thurston counties in Washington.
The program seeks to fund new efforts that unite people who might not normally interact, help neighbors connect, and create meaningful opportunities for collaboration. Projects that build understanding across differences, promote civic participation, or celebrate community and shared purpose are encouraged.
Examples of funded projects include community clean-ups or improvements to shared public spaces, collaborative public art like murals or performances, dialogues or workshops that bring together diverse perspectives, youth-led service projects addressing local issues, and storytelling circles or oral history initiatives that connect generations and cultures.
Grant amounts range from $1,000 to $5,000 per project. Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) organizations, Native American tribal agencies, public institutions, religious organizations, and projects with approved fiscal sponsors. Individuals may also participate by partnering with an eligible organization to carry out their project.
The application deadline is July 31, 2025.
