The St. Joe Community Foundation’s (“Foundation”) mission is to enrich the quality of life for the people who live, work, and play in Northwest Florida.

Focus Areas

Nonprofit organizations may submit their applications under one or more of the Foundation’s four pillars.

  • Cultural Arts
    • Projects and initiatives essential to cultivating, developing, educating and improving cultural experiences in the community.
  • Education
    • Projects and initiatives to improve the Educational process or access to Education in the community.
  • Environment Stewardship
    • Projects and initiatives that protect, preserve and restore the communities’ natural resources.
  • Healthcare
    • Projects and initiatives that positively impact the physical health, mental health, and overall wellness in the community.

The Foundation Funds

  • The Foundation provides grants to organizations recognized as tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code that are focused on helping Northwest Florida move forward in the areas of education, environmental stewardship, healthcare, and cultural arts. They consider the grants investments, not charity or obligations. As such, the Foundation seeks projects in Northwest Florida, with a focus on Bay and Walton counties, that promise long-term returns on the quality of life in the region.
  • They seeks for programs that: work toward fundamental improvements in quality of life; include a plan for measuring success and financial accountability; are structured for sustainable impact; demonstrate a track record of success, or reasonable probability for success and economic sustainability; and leverage support in concert with others to better address the area’s greatest challenges.

Funding Information

Grants generally range from $1,000 to $50,000.

Eligibility Criteria

The St. Joe Community Foundation, Inc. accepts grant applications from organizations recognized as tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, other than those whose purpose for the grant is political or religious activities. Organizations should be based in Bay or Walton County or may be recognized as a County Chapter of a state or national charity serving residents of Bay or Walton County.

Evaluation Criteria

The St. Joe Community Foundation typically does not fund the following:

  • Administrative or Overhead Costs
  • Grants to be used for Reimbursement Purposes
  • Brick and Mortar
  • Youth Sports not associated with a public school
  • School / Athletic Banner Sponsorships
  • School Athletic items not associated with a safety need
  • Uniforms / T-Shirts
  • Food / Gift Cards
  • Lodging / Transportation.
