The Wildlife Conservation Commission grant funding support projects aimed at the preservation and enhancement of wildlife and their habitats. Funding proposals submitted to the WCC must advance the purposes listed in Section 13103 of the California Fish and Game Code, and proposals must adhere to requirements set forth by the WCC in the Grant Funding Proposal Application Requirements
The Wildlife Conservation Commission (WCC) is an eight-member commission that advises the Napa County Board of Supervisors on funding proposals that preserve and enhance Napa County wildlife and their habitats
Eligibility Criteria
All applications for Wildlife Conservation Commission grant funding must demonstrate eligibility as follows:
- Project must be located within Napa County.
- Project must be accomplished within the fiscal year the award is granted.
- Exception only for applications for land acquisition, which may be submitted as multi-year funding requests.
- Only one application for funding may be submitted per organization; however, the application may request funding for several projects.
- For environmental education proposals submitted by or on behalf of schools:
- No more than one (1) proposal per classroom;
- Proposals for funding on behalf of schools shall be submitted directly by the district on behalf of individual schools with a maximum of one (1) proposal from each instructional level (i.e., one from the elementary school level, one from junior high, and one from the high school level).
- Applications must meet the requirements for use of State Fish and Wildlife fine monies (§13103).
- If your project is eligible under Section 13103(d), (h), (i), or (m), please be advised that the eligibility of the application is subject to CDFW to review and approval.
- Administrative costs shall be identified in the Expenditure Detail and shall not be included for reimbursement unless otherwise deemed necessary and approved by the Commission.
