United Way of Berks County is accepting applications for its LIVE UNITED Grant, which supports grassroots and collaborative projects that creatively tackle neighborhood and community challenges in Berks County, Pennsylvania.
These one-time grants of up to $5,000 are intended for community-based organizations working on innovative ideas that bring people together to improve quality of life. Projects can be one-time events or ongoing initiatives that have the potential to create a significant impact using limited resources.
The grant focuses on four key areas identified as essential to building a thriving community: education, financial stability, health, and safety net services. Within these areas, priorities include school readiness, youth development, job skills, affordable housing, mental health, wellness, and meeting basic needs.
Funding can be used for activities that foster community engagement, promote volunteerism, improve neighborhoods, and celebrate community diversity.
Eligible applicants must be 501(c)(3) nonprofits or community organizations using a fiscal agent, with annual budgets under $250,000. Collaborative projects are welcomed, provided all partners meet the budget requirement. Previous recipients can apply again, but not for the same project previously funded.
The application deadline is August 14, 2025.
