The GOYFF Trauma-Informed Substance Use Prevention Program (TISUPP) establishes a critical investment in community-level and institutional protective factors designed to mitigate the long-term risk of substance use and poor health outcomes. Supported by funding from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), GOYFF extends this grant opportunity to Arizona community partners with the specific goal of bolstering protection against substance use within high-need communities across the state.
Types of Projects
- Track 1: Community Connection & Positive Development focuses on building supportive community and family environments. Subgrantees are required to use evidence-based frameworks to increase Positive Childhood Experiences (PCEs).
- Track 2: Youth in Schools focuses on youth’s knowledge, perceptions, and attitudes regarding substance use within formal educational and youth-serving settings (K-12). This track emphasizes youth-led
initiatives, including prevention messaging and positive social norms campaigns, as well as evidence-based prevention education curriculam. - All Tracks: Programs are encouraged to use funding for prevention workforce development activities and/or professional development opportunities.

- Arizona-Based Substance Use Prevention Coalitions
- Arizona Tribal Nations, Tribal Coalitions, and Tribal Communities
- Local Education Agencies (LEAs) (Traditional Public School Districts, County Offices of Education, and Direct-Funded Charter Schools)
- State, County, or City Government Entities
- Faith-Based Organizations.
